Our new Doctor will be joining us soon!

Here at Combs EyeCare & EyeWear, your Vision Source in Western Springs, we are thrilled to announce that Dr. Kerry John, a resident of Western Springs will be joining our staff on a full-time basis.

Dr. John is an alumnus of Benet Academy, Indiana University, and the Illinois College of Optometry. She completed her post-doctoral residency in Ocular Disease at the Illinois Eye Institute. She also served as a Clinical Instructor at the Illinois College of Optometry and at Rush University, where she instructed medical residents on contact lenses.

Dr. John has been in private practice for the past ten years and is now looking forward to serving patients closer to school, family, and home. She is an active volunteer in the community and excited to share her expertise and skills locally. She will be seeing patients on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and alternating Saturdays.

Dr. Irene Combs is proud to announce the addition of Dr. John to our staff and offers a hearty welcome and congratulations to Dr. John. Dr. Combs is especially pleased that Combs EyeCare & EyeWear is celebrating 17 years of offering friendly, professional care to our patients.

Dr. Combs received her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1991, after attending the University of Illinois. She is a long-term resident of the Western Springs area, a past school board member, and participates regularly in numerous community organizations. She attends several professional seminars and conferences a year and was recently featured at the Vision Source Annual Conference in Anaheim, California.

Our emphasis on optometric care and diagnosis is aided by state-of-the-art technology to assess prescription needs and retinal health. This technology assists Dr. Combs and Dr. John in evaluating Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, and other diseases and conditions.

We have recently remodeled our office, and have added a “Healthy Eyes” shop in our Optical Department where you can stop in at any time to pick up items to keep your eyes healthy!
